Cultural Awareness and De-escalation: Champion training that reflects the town’s evolving demographics and equips officers with de-escalation strategies for a safer, smarter response.
Why are you running?
I’m running for the Police Commission Board because I believe in protecting what makes Bethel special. I support our officers and the critical role they play in keeping our town safe. With my background in cybersecurity, I bring awareness of the modern threats law enforcement faces in a digital world. I’ve supported police departments in major cities like Houston, and I understand the importance of equipping officers with the tools, training, and trust they need to serve well. Additionally, as a father of twin boys with special needs, I carry a personal understanding of the challenges many families face. Advocacy and inclusion aren’t just ideas to me, they’re part of daily life. I’ve learned how vital it is for our town services, schools, and public safety to be equipped with empathy, training, and the right resources to support every child and every parent. I will bring that awareness to the board and work to ensure that our community remains a place where all families feel seen, respected, and protected. I believe in strong collaboration between police and the community. I believe in inclusion, in listening, and in protecting every family’s right to feel safe and supported. And most of all, I believe in giving back to the town that gave so much to me.
Biography
My story starts right here in Bethel. I was born and raised in this town, growing up first on Maple Avenue, then Katrina Circle, and later Rockwell Road. These streets weren’t just places I lived, they were the backdrop of my childhood, filled with neighborhood community, school pride, and the kind of friendships that last a lifetime. My family roots run deep. My grandmother helped build the foundation for the special education program in the Bethel School System, where she was a psychologist until retirement, instilling in our family a strong sense of service and inclusion. I played freshman football at Bethel High, sat through business classes with Mr. Babington that first sparked my interest in leadership, and spent my Thursdays as a Cub Scout then Boy Scout. I attended First Congregational Church, where I learned about community, support, and the quiet strength of showing up for others. After high school, life took me to Houston, where I began building a career in cybersecurity and gained exposure to new cultures, perspectives, and challenges. Living in a city that large gave me a broader view of the world and a deeper appreciation for the values I grew up with—safety, family, and belonging. Eventually, my wife and I made the choice to come back to Bethel and raise our twin boys where my story began. We wanted them to grow up with space to explore, neighbors who look out for one another, and a school system rooted in care and community. We wanted home.
As a cybersecurity professional, I understand the modern challenges our police face in a digital age, from cybercrime to online threats. I’ve supported law enforcement teams, including in Houston, and believe that strong collaboration between communities and police is essential for a community-driven and safe town. I care deeply about building a town that is safe, inclusive, and family-focused. I’m running to support our officers, strengthen trust, and help Bethel face today’s challenges with confidence.
